I was very happy to come across this website. Coming from New Orleans(born and rasied) it is very hard to see a face like mine since the hurricane. It feels almost hopeless from the days of the 7th ward were all creoles resided in the 70's till now were we are lost two the four corners of the world. Is there any hope for us?? Is our race going to be talked about in the future as being extinct? What will become of our rich culture, our creole festival? It seems most of this isn't in the present time anymore it only exists in memories. I hope we can preserve our culture not just let it slip away with the famlies that moved away and with those who have passed away.

I am happy to have found this site. I am Seattle born and raised but my roots are from New Orleans, and we even have some family down there still. I am delighted to find a site that I can look to find out more about my Creole heritage and culture.

I enjoyed your website tremendously. I have always had a fascination for my Creole heritage. Your site was very interesting and informative. My ancestor, Jean-Louis Dolliole, was also instrumental in building similar french cottages like the ones mentioned. I will be returning home to New Orleans soon; I was relocated to Texas due to Hurricane Katrina. It will be good to get back to things that are familiar.
