My great grandfather was Pierre Rochon.

I wonder if this is the same family. We know very little about him and his family except that he was from Santa Domingue and jumped ship near New Orleans. He married an Indian woman and had several children one of which was my grandfather, Peter. They lived near Arnaudville, La. Their youngest child still lives there.

Their primary language was French and spoke little English. My grandfather married Maggie Lastrape and they moved to a small neighborhood of Creoles in Houston, Texas named "French Town." They had 6 children. My mother was the oldest girl. For many years they spelled their last name Roushion and later returned to Rochon.

My aunt is a Sister of the Holy Family in New Orleans and I have been actively involved for years in the canonization process of their founder, Henriette Delille. In 1995 Joe Sample (jazz pianist), Bill Kelly (Oscar winning screenwriter for The Witness) and I met with the Mother Superior and were granted their approval to write the story of Henriette Delille. I've help research her life for years and prayed to find my own roots. Can you help?
